hey guys I just bought a 2015 arctic cat 700xr. I am trying to figure out why I am having such a difficult time with the steering. My model does not come with power steering. I have taken the tires off and inspected the A arms very carefully they are all straight and have no bends or dents. the only thing I can find is that they are loose and need new gaskets. would this be the cause of difficult steering. I don't know much about atv's I've always been a boat guy but couldn't pass up on this deal. any information you guys could give me would be extremely helpful. I could take pictures if you guys need.

Gaskets?
The bushings on the a-arms can go bad and causing wandering but not hard steering. Check ball joints and tie rod ends.
You can purchase all new bushings and a set of steerlites from RTR a vendor here.

Is it still hard to steer when front end is up in the air? Doorfx mentioned items to check too. And the bushing he mentioned are called steerlites. It helps in those slow speed tight bush trails for steering. Best thing I bought for my 03 400.

Once you get new bushings, play around with the front end alignment. My 700 Diesel has no power steering and oversize tires plus it's a couple hundred pounds heavier than the gas model. I found it needed a wee bit of toe in to make it steer 10X's better. It had a lot of toe out when I got it, would rip the bars out of your hands when you hit a rock.

Did you solve it?
