clutch issues on a ZL 440

well im back, i took my sled for a ride, and noticed something i never noticed before.. not sure if i just had not noticed or if its new.
well the clutch is all stock with the exception of the weights, i have notched weights in it for a harder engagement, but when i come down the trail and into a hill, i let go of the throttle and coast, and the rpms stay up as if its still engaged and not releasing, is my clutch sticking or will notched weights make it hold? i chose the notched weights from accessibility, i already had them and they brought my engagment rpm down to the area i wanted, but engages harder, sounds like a contradiction i know but trying to answer the obvious questions im going to get lol.

You put the weights in because you had them. They brought the engagement down because they are a heavier weight. Due to the notch the come in hard. Yes, I understand.
To answer your question, sounds like you need to take it apart and clean it and lube it with a spray type graphite. No oil. That's not good for clutches. You may need to clean it with some CRC brand Brakeleen. This stuff cuts the crud and will need to be lube afterwards. You should se a notable difference if this is your problem.

well the clutch does need some work, but the springs, weights, and weight bolts/bushions are all new, the stationary sheave is all smooth with no grooves, and the secondary is all redone also, the primary has spider play, at idle is rattles, but if you take it apart if does not bind and cant get it to. i put it all to stock and that little 440 was no engaging till almost 6000, so i had to jump ALOT in weight to get down to about 4600, could there be a connection in the problems? will notched weights make it hold rpm's and not disengage? im picking up a used clutch with low miles and a tight spider at the end of the week for 50 bucks, just needs some emery cloth or scotch brite to clean it up a little.
