Hey guys, I am having fuel issues I believe. Just pulled the sled out of storage and can't get it started. It looks like I'm not getting fuel to my carbs. I pulled the fuel lines off of each carb and pulled the sled over, no fuel from any of the line. I can suck fuel from the tank, through the filter, and shutoff. The impulse line looks good. I pulled the pump apart and all of the diaphrams and gaskets look good, no junk in the pump body at all.

So... What am I missing? Am I wrong to think that the pump should send fuel to the carb inlet line when they are off of the carbs?

How can I test the impulse line for good pressure?

Thanks in advance!

The plugs are fairly new and it fires over on starter fluid in the cylinders. You say just squirt some gas in the fuel line inlet on the carbs? I an try that tomorrow. Does the pump need to be primed, maybe it had just drained down and needs re-primed?

Pull all 3 plugs and pull over approx. 25-30 times put the plugs in and you should have fuel to the carbs. If you put small amounts in each spark plug hole you don't have to pull the boot. Only do this if you don't get fuel after removing plugs and pulling like stated earlier.

people often forget that the fuel pump(s) require crankcase PRESSURE to send fuel. when they dry out, they cavitate, and it requires a lot of pressure to get them primed. try to blow some air into the gas tank by sealing the filler hole and giving it a few shots of air. just a little pressure is enough. then, get a little squirt bottle and fill it with gas. spray it into the carbs with the throttle open, close the throttle, and start it. it will run a few seconds and die. do this once or twice and it should be enough to get the fuel pumps priming. once they are priming, it will still take a few pulls to get the carb bowls to fill. if you get the bowls filled, but still won't run, your needle and seats could be sticking. This is the common two issues with shutting off the gas and running the carbs dry. it is nice for storage, up until you have to pull the sled out and start riding it. that's why i always stabilize my fuel tank and run the sled for about 10 minutes once a month in the off season
