Was wondering if the 600 has the same pump problems as the 800? I dunno
I have seen issues with the 800's water pump leaking out of the weep hole and wondering if the 600 has the same issues? Thanks

First lets clear up the 800 water pump isn't exactly problematic... Doesn't have problems because of itself.

Water pump issues are the resullt of owners not swapping out the counterbalancer bearings at regular maintenance intervals.

If the person doesn't, the water pump will die... But it is because of this lack of proper maintenance concerning the bearing replacement on the counterbalancer.

The problem is the owner not knowing to replace the bearings. I didn't either. But now I know.

The 800 runs the water pump impeller off the counterbalancer shaft. The 600 does not, the 600 can't because it doesn't have the counterbalancer at all.

Still gotta check the weep though!

I had some issues ZRT 6 losing coolant. I got new seals and an o-ring for the cover and it seemed to take care of the problem. I would recommend having a service manual, taking the engine out of the sled to work on it. I did mine in the sled but it was a pain in the backside.

The waterpump shaft if the same one that drives the oil pump I believe.

Here is a link to my waterpump adventure.

Badd Kitty,

Checked your sled tonight and coolant appears to be coming out of the weep hole. Will talk to ya at work tonight.
