trying to pick out aftermarket skis

I am looking for a set of new skis, mostly because my stock skis do not float in soft snow. I would love to find a pair of skis that work good in the turns of hardpack, but also stay afloat in the softer snow. Is there such a thing? I wouldn't mind going with a powder ski but with 153 studs and fairly agressive cornering would be afraid they won't bite. Let me know what you think and what ski models would suit that riding style. I run 9in shaper bars.

I run p/pros with 9" shapers and they bit in the corners good - but I havent rode a sled w/razors..

I just put C&A razors (7.5" shaper bars) on my early build F6 (1 3/8" track & 153 studs).
No complaints from me!

I had a set of SLP -SLT's on my Firecat and they were great. They had zero darting Zip,nada, none -straight as an arrow. The SLPs' are called power steering on snow - they are that smooth and easy to turn.

A lot of folks out there love the C and A Razors for the ultimate in precision but they do come at a price of harder steering effort and excessive darting.

Sounds like you could use a set of SLP powder pros .fFom what I have read they provide great flotation and still retain all the qualities of the SLT's

Hope this helps.

put pps on my 03 f7 i ordered them with shapers ,big mistake! the shaper bars do not fit the curve of the ski like the slp carbide leaving big gaps between the ski and the bar, you could wrench the gaps out of them but you far excede the factory torque specs and the ski becomes a straight ski and that kills the handling and design of the ski and will handle very heavy like a c and a with the slp carbide this thing is a very wonderful turning machine in hardpack and a dream in the powder i ordered mine from go big parts for 305 with everything, ski, loop, mount, carbide you will love them

with the shaper bars I found if you grind the head of the bolt even with the bar it doesnt bend the ski . the weld is oveer hanging off the bar..
