tps sensor

Is there a way to bypass tps sensor on 2000 zr 700 carb motor? Tried search only come up with efi realated info thanks.

What you are talking about are the magnetic switches for the throttle safety system. Those are only on or off, no in-between.

The TPS (Throttle Position Sensor) on the ZR 700 in question tells the CDI how far you have your thumb into it and its resistance is variable from idle to full throttle. The CDI uses this information to vary the timing of the ignition to maximize performance.

The "TPS" on your sled is just called a Sensor in the parts diagrams. It is mounted to the clutch side carb. It should be obvious how to unplug it, but as the other guys have stated, that will have a bad effect on your performance. Unlike the EFI's, that sensor is separately replaceable. The p/n for a 2000 ZR700 is 6506-074, but since you have a 900 in there now, it's sort of a question mark. Did they use the 900 carbs? what year is it? Did they use new carb slides, or the original ones?
