I recieved a BRP ATV DVD in the mail too.

Didn't ask BRP for any ATV info/brochures/DVDs etc. Just not in the market, my current ATV has a few years to go before it pays to replace.

The only thing I did do is request brochures for their Evinrude/Johnson outboard line-up. They sent the previous season's brochures... Which I already had and didn't want... And probably took that opportunity to put me on their ATV mailing list once they had my mailing info.

Yes, I agree they make some great engines... I really liked the power my MX-5 made as an ice racer motorcycle... Was one of my favourites.

But in the last few years, they've been having a lot of ring/piston issues in snowmobile engines. Should eventually be able get it sorted out though. It just shows no engines are perfect based on brand alone.

I've been getting Yamaha and Polaris snowmobile information the past few years. I'm pretty sure all of the manufacturers add a person to their list when a recreational vehcile is registered. Kind of like getting a sled mag w/o subscribing (Snowmobile Mag, Dennis Kirk, etc). Either it's that, or they somehow got my information from MNUSA (snowmobile association).

Bombardier is a :turd: company! The canadian government has bailed them out at least twice giving them hundreds of millions of dollars just cause they re a french company who have a lot of friends high up! They would exist if it weren t for my hard earned tax dollars being thrown at them just to keep them alive. The canadian government has always bent over backwards for Quebec . No offence to the french canadians (je m excuse) but its true. Pisses me off! Id never buy bombardier plus i think they re qquads are problem riden. IMO.

Ronan does have a good point. The Bombardier family did buy the recreational division back from the aerospace/transportation engineering company, hence the whole "BRP" gimmick now, however, the company has floated on taxpayers for a long time. BRP is so into pleasing their customer base that they're moving their operations to Mexico because it is so well know known for its high-end production values... . Riiiight. My Outlander was great for fast trails. That was it. No where near the off-road capability of the AC. I bought Bomb to get away from non-North American stuff. BSE and Japan and me being a rancher and all... . Then a couple of months pass and I find out as of '07, Bomb/Rotax are Mexican-built. So- Arctic Cat it is. Yeah I know, 'Zuki has 40% interest in AC etc. Whatever. At least it is "less Japanese." I tell you though, I'd rather have a Jap ride than a Mexican one. At least I trust Japaneses QC a little. After 3-4 years of Outtie 400s leaving their owners stranded with VR after VR destrying their batteries and electronics (winch controls, 4x4 controls, dash-pod controls etc), I don't have any desire to do that again. Bomb did not step up. After a half dozen guys getting tossed when the 400's a-arm ripped off the frame on the trail and Bomb wouldn't admit to any trouble- I walked. At least my H1 has driven itself home in spite of the bugs I have had to get worked out. No more BRP for me. Cat will have a bigger engine soon I suspect for anyone needing a huge twin.

Before you guys :turd: all over BRP too much (the product aside): BRP and Bombardier are 2 different entities. The rec division was sold off a few years back because it carried much value with it (VERY profitable division of Bombardier). Bombardier was in serious economic trouble after September 11th, which is not their fault. Most of thier revenue was generated from the sales of aviation and locomotive products. Instantly, sales came to a screeching halt on September 12th. General Electric had the same problem. No one was flying (or travelling at all) and therfore no planes (or trains) were being broken, repaired, or purchased. To generate some funds, the most profitable division of Bombardier (rec division) was sold off to help keep the rest afloat.

My point is that while Bombardier may have economic problems, BRP is a very profitable and well run company. Like it or not, BRP is being run smartly and they have a ton of awsome ideas.

As far as their sleds and ATVs go, not my cup of tea. :bleedgreen

Macenq you are right about the sept 11 incident and its true that their recreational division is doing well... but that doesnt explain the money to save their asses before september 11th. Just like Air Canada. Admitedly Im jaded after multiple handouts. Meanwhile the liberal government spent 100 million + on luxury jets to fly their pompous asses around when they could have bought comperable jets in the states for 76 million. Thats 25 millon dollars out of our pockets ! And then they have the odacity to out source labour to mexico when they could have started a plant in Canada and created jobs for us. The very jobs that have created tax revenues that has saved their asses in the first place. Im sure the maritimers with their high unemployment rates would agree.

Yeah- that's kinda what I said ain't it? :tongue_nana:

Still building hit and miss stuff. Some of it is AWESOME. Some of it is unpredictable. Mexico? Yeah- that'll help. I'm sure they had idealistic motives besides the bottom line.
