I have a 2002 Artic Cat Pantera 800 efi with electric start. The machine has been running fairly well until recently. The machine starts up no problem and runs great at idle. When I hit the throttle slowly is goes and will speed up gradually. When I hit the throttle hard to accelerate fast the machine dies unless I release the throttle back to idle. If it does die it will start right up with no problem. Furthermore, if I gradually speed up to full throttle the machine seams to sputter and there is an overall loose of top end speed by about 20 miles an hour or more. The machine seems to sputter and not run smooth after about 30 miles an hour. I just cleaned the spark plugs. Does anyone have an idea of what could be the problem?

Could you have a worn TSS? The throttle safety switch caused problems on my ZL600 and I replaced the bushings to fix. You can look up the TSS on youtube and find how to disable the switch to test...otherwise, new plugs, stator??

If unplugging your throttle safety switch did not cure your problem (TSS) it could be that the smart valves in the gas tank have become plugged with debris. The screens are very fine mesh. I had a similar problem last year with one of my sleds and this past weekend my ZL acted up. Does your fuel pump whine, or make a noise you haven't heard before? If so I'm betting on the smart valves.
I haven't put the the fuel pump back in the ZL, but after cleaning the valves I think will cure the problem in my case.

I bought two new bushing for the throttle cable and installed them. It seamed to help a lot but it did not fully clear up the problem of the engine cutting off. I have not disconnected the TSS yet. I wonder if I installed the bushing the wrong way. I did find a big chunk of rubber missing on my belt and replaced it. I ran the sled for 20+ miles under 50 mph to break in the belt and the machine ran the best it has in years. Although now when I go over 50 mph the machine seams to skips. Speeds up slows down speeds up and slows down. Do I have a bad clutch? The fuel pump does not whine.
