Oil Change Intervals on Turbo's?

Hi, Do you change your oil every year or change it after so many miles? I have always changed my oil and filter in my 2010 Z1 1100 Turbo and my 2006 T660 Turbo Touring LE every year regardless of milage put on during the season. Due to using synthetic oil I truly wonder if the oil needs to be changed with only 1000 or so miles? Oil & filter changes have always been and will be at the top of my list. Thanks, Ray

Good question.Changing the oil and filter every year does seem excessive. We would never use that low mileage intervals with our cars/trucks. Also, the synthetic oil is of the highest quality. I have changed oil and filter every year since 2010, but not for this season. I will now change every 2 years.

I change mine every 2,000 miles as the manual suggests to be sure my Cat Care won't be denied. Not that huge of a job on the TZ1, and gets it inside the shop mid season for a good once over including grease, ski alignment, and track adjustment.

This has always been my frame of mind..... I do own a motorcycle and boat as well. I wouldn't give an oil change a second thought to them due to condensation from cold storage. Never took into consideration that oil would condensate in the summer. Thanks, Ray

I perform all my maintenance in the spring. I store both my sleds on lifts and run them at least once every two weeks. Idle up to temp, run track forward/reverse. Why? Mainly to help keep the drive bearings from sitting idle/drying out along with distributing oil throughout engine. Right or wrong, it's worked for me. Both sleds have over 5000 miles on them. So far, so good. Ray
