Hello, been a while since I've posted anything, anyway, I have a 2002 zr 800 cce carb now, non ES, freshly rebuilt. started the sled up today, rode around for 30-45 minutes and noticed the key wouldn't shut it off. I noticed the headlights starting to dim really bad and it missing and sputtering at idle. then it shut off. havent been able to start it since. headlights wont flicker or anything. stator? coil? tss? cdi? I am completely unaware of how the electrical/ignition system works on my sled, so any help at all would be greatly appreciated!

check your wiring to your stator and coil do you have spark do you have a tether if so pull it off and put it back on and try it hope this will help you

That seems like shorted wiring type of issue. The one side of the stator powers ignition and power valves. The other side does lighting. If they get crossed some how it could affect both maybe?
Not shutting off typically is missing ground or faulty CDI but maybe something else is going on there to cause that.
