I've had these hids for a number of years now, when I bought them they had the bigger analog ballasts, last year one of the ballasts went bad and I replaced them with the newer slim digital ones, tonight while coming back from deer hunting they just don't seem to be as bright as I remember, so the question is ,do they get dimmer as they get older or is it just me? I have a extra set of bulbs I could put in and see if it makes a difference in brightness.

I used to work in the lighting industry. HID lights do lose intensity. It's nt uncommon for people to re-lamp at around 3 years depending upon usage if my memory serves me correctly.

Your eyes are better than fine. Most people don't notice or write the lumens loss off to imagination.
