If you're putting it into a '99+ ZRT or T-cat chassis, nothing has to be done to make it fit. Get motor mounts from a '99+ ZRT 800 or T-cat and you're done. Pipes may have to be modified a bit.

If you're putting it in a '98+ twin chassis, you would want to change the bellypan and hood to the ZRT2 style unless you want to get pipes to fit under the twin hood. Then you just need the motor mounts mentioned above. Pretty much all AWS V chassis mount the engines the same way.

Something you see quite a bit here is people keeping the older AWS IV chassis, and putting a set of 43" A-arms from an AWS V ZR or ZRT on them. Supposedly makes them handle even better than the stock AWS V chassis.

I believe AG is the person to contact regarding this mod.

I personally like the AWS V chassis better, but that's probably influenced by the fact that we have a huge stockpile of parts for it, and I don't think my motor would fit well in the older chassis without a lot of work.

 

The handling of the 98 with the ski suspension mod will blow your mind. Handling of 99 & newer doesn't compare.

As IDCATMAN3 said, the mod uses suspension parts from the AWS5 chassis, so the upgrade won't cost tons of cash because there are lots of used parts out there. Worth every penny.

The mod makes the sled virtually bottom-out proof and will out-corner just about anything out there... Especially if you do the steering post mod for stand-up ergos.

just wanna add that, there is nothing that compares to the SOUND and POWER that this beast creates. i love em. the match stick painted one is the 1000. the green is a 98 440 snorpro chassie with a 640 big bore, twin pipes, new clutches, 121" modern skid, with 1 1/2" studed track, vforces, and snopro gearing. the snopro front pic isnt the greatest but itll have to do till later.

 

hey AG, i looked through the postings, and its all very descriptive, but im more of a viaualist. got pics of before and after the mod, and maybe some during. that would give me a better idea of whats going on. thanks

 

I'd argue with you just a bit on the power side . I'm a fan of my 1500, but the T-cats are pretty good. It sounds to me like if you're not going to make a mountain sled, modding the current chassis is a pretty good way to go.

 

well i dont think ill be dissappointed this season with the new toys. i think im going to look into AGLT mod a little more aleast.
