1997 Artic Cat ZR 580

Hello People,
I aquired a 97 ZR 580 with a blown motor, found a 1996 ZR 580 parts sled minus computer put the 96 motor in the 97 sled. I changed the magnetal and flywheel since connections where different but now when I pull it over the computer flashes red but I have no spark? Not sure whats going on here, any suggestions or idea's. Thanks

The 97 only uses one timing sensor. Make sure it's on the side with the flywheel marks.

Does the flashing red mean anything or does it always flash red. Just thought that it may show its getting a signal back to cp.

1 should be ok. did you change the trigger coil

I ohm'd it out and it seemed fine 190. Changed it out and now I have spark. Awesome....Thanks

Got it running, was told to run a bit of premix to allow injectors to work, smoked me right out of garage lol. Does not idle, thinking maybe because way to much oil, I put about a gallon of premix in it. Should I just dump a bunch of gas in tank to dilute it?? Whats people's opinion on this one?

wow ya I would fill it up with fuel and not worry too much about premix! If your oil pump is working properly there is no need to premix.
