Hey guys, i was just wondering what id need to do to show up my buddys brute force 750 in mud holes at the next atv run? his bikes stock with big tires.. mines stock with 27's.. both running mud light xtrs.. i think he has 29s or 30s? its a guy thing i guess. having something bigger and badder then the other guy.. haha. lemme know?

If both are equipped with XTRs they both have 27's.
It's the biggest XTR they make at this time.

In the mud you should have him, yours has (according to PSN) alot more GC, with the same size tires.
He has HP on his side, but depending on the types of holes you are hitting it should be a decent match-up.
It will probably come down to who is the better rider.

hmm thanks alot.. im pretty sure he has the xtrs... id say like 90% sure.. but if he has the reg mud lights? what do you think?

#4 ·
if you know anybody that has a cat with outlaws borrow them and dont look back to see him crying surrend
also if hes not snorkeled and hits the water fast he will be done anyway, they have bad intake for water

#5 ·
i would get some /// love and watch him eat your dust. Do the a 2inch snorkel rejet clip and drill the carb and exhuast mod. You will have alot more power espcially with the ///

#6 ·
yea, dont know anyone with those outlaws, i dont even think i can get them here in town.. i can get silverbacks though.. anyone with a cat use these yet?

#7 ·
oh ya there are alot of guys on here with backs. Arctic cat or die has a set of 32s on his modded 650h1.

He is running 4.0 front and rear diff with the 15% gear reduction and a custom clutch kit. Then on top of that he WAS running a 6inch lift.

Well your never going to out run him so if the mud your going through is not real deep and you have the same tires he is going to go threw it quicker period.
Now it your talking about deepruts or deep water get you a set of Silverbacks and stomp him easy. I have 30s they fit with no lift easy and pull very hard and will walk all over those XTRs in the mud.
do all the mods you can, exhaust, jetting, clutching, CDI and a 2" snorkel for more air and cooler air and have fun.

I ride with a BF750 he has 29.5" swamplites and i can normal go threw what he has trouble in in 2wd shoot alot of times i ride wheelies through it when he was in 4wd..

you need to take advantage of your GC because he has the HP advantage and that ain't going to change.

well, i was going to mod the hell outa the bike.. but the wifey wants to keep the warrenty.. i guess its best to do that for now.. looks like ill just have to try and go in deeper ruts and hope he cant follow.. :) if i dont take him now, i will after my warrenty is up! haha. im going to start a collection of parts for d-day

The brute is an animal, I find it pretty tough to hang with them on our 650. The cheapest way to put a little more @$$ kick into you 650 is to pull two opposing weights out of the primary. I've had this mod on ours for quite a while and haven't had any trouble. Free and easy=good mod in my book.

I don't see it mentioned a lot here so if it's a bad one chastise away fellas.

GWC is right your going to need to use your gc to your advantage...maybe put some backs on. Ive rode with a brute 750 and he had 26 inch mudlites and he couldn't follow me any where...but on the road i could barley keep up with him. You will need pretty much every mod made for your 650 to come close to him on the road.

Quick easy mod, remove the belt cover, use and impact with an 1 1/4" socket to remove the nut from primary clutch half, take off the washer then the outer half of the primary, remove the gold colored fixed plate, remove two roller weights directly across from each other then reassemble it as you took it apart. Before you can go back together with the primary you must spread the secondary half. There is a jack screw hole in the secondary, use a long cover screw to spread it enough to drop the belt in. The reason you do this is so that the belt will not prevent the primary from fully seating. If the belt is not released in the secondary you may think the primary is seated but it's actually squeezing the belt and will be loose the first feet you ride it causing $$$ damage. It's an easy mod. It forces the engine to run a little faster to get the same amount of work done, the 650 is a little slower on the uptake and this helps a bit.

who would like to see some pics of slackers clutch mod? I know I would. It sounds like it makes perfect sense and would work. I have never messed around with clutches before so it would be great to see some pics. I am very interested. Free mods Free mods!

You found my short coming. :( One of many if you ask the wife! I don't know how to upload pictures to this site, you can tell by my lengthy photo album. I would definately post some but to be honest, with my computer skills I'm lucky to post the texts here. It looks just like a primary with 8 rollers, but it only has 6 rollers and 2 empty runners directly across from each other. Close as I can get for you, sorry. I've thumbed through posts that talk about photo bucket and on and on but I can't get it to stick. I can't wait until this whole computer fad passes like bell bottoms. It is just a fad, right?????

The warranty isn't really worth S*&% anyway. MOD it up. My buddy has a 800 Renegade that he was always yapping about and telling me my H1 was junk. We went riding and I went through all the mud and water he went around. His plastic belt cover leaked like a screen door, and his crappy G.C. couldn't keep up with me. He's obviously got me on open ground, but he can't hang in the mud. Once I went flying by him in the soup a few times he stopped talkin trash to me. You need snorks and a few light power-mods. Most of which can be quickly reversed before you take it in for a warranty issue, but again, I haven't ever had any luck with the warranty so I gave up waiting and started modding. Before anyone jumps on me about reversing mods before taking it in, I'm not saying lie about what your doing... If I broke something, I'd pay, if it was a legit warranty issue, then I have no issue taking off my mods so I don't have to argue about any of it.
