I need help. I just got my 2001 ZL 550 out and started it up. After letting it run for a few, I noticed a big puddle of gas under the front of the machine. I started it back up and noticed the gas running out of the overflow tube on the carb. Any ideas on why this would be happening?

Sounds like you need to adjust the float level in the carb, or you may have some crud keeping the needle from fully seating. If it loads up and idles rough and dirty, it's probably gunk in the jet/needle assembly. Good luck with it! -Craig

My guess is inlet needle and seat assembly is malfunctioning. Instead of cleaning them, which may not work, the quickest solution would be to replace them with new. You will have to get past the float assembley to tget to the inlet needle and seat, so you will check the float function first.
