Just bought a used 06 Xfire 7. On my first ride I notice when I was stopped that the belt sqweeled in the primary. The sled really launched out of the hole but really did have any mid range. I put on 100miles on it and when I got it up to 70mph the top cogs of the belt blew up. I stopped on the side of the trail and put a brand new belt on and the sqweeling was much louder. I did notice that the belt was very tight between the 2 clutches. With the first belt the sled seem to always want to edge forward.

I confirmed that the belt is the right belt for the sled.

Is this a defection problem, or should I have the clutched rebuilt???

Please throw in your 2 cents

Sounds like the belt is too tight and likely your only problem. The first belt was either worn out or your clutches aren't aligned properly.

Took out a spacer and the belt now has proper deflection! My only issue now is finding out what type of oil is in the reservoir. The former owner told me in was APV but APV is blue and the stuff in the reservoir is brown.
