This is from a 03 F7 sp but I would start by checking the tie rod end links #14 or #18 and also check #7 and #19 for wear as long as its not in the bars them self. If its the bars them self then I would go to the riser if all that is ok check the other tie rod ends.
I changed everything but the nylon piece near the tank,and the steering rod from the s/p to the steering arm under the hood.
all 8 tie rod ends ,and all the aluminum tie rod links .a little play in 8 t/r adds to a lot in the bars.to change the ball in the s/p would be alot of work a new post was 30$(+-)t/r ends 12-15$ the alm rods 10$
I changed them all and put the old ones in the trailer
My sled was also i removed 19 and took a center punch and hit it several times then filed it back to size to fit the "square" on the end of the steering post hasn't worked loose let. thats my poor boy fix lol
