Trying to put a winch on my 2018 Textron Alterra 500. Literature says it is winch ready. Dealer couldn't find a mounting plate. Can anyone point me in the right direction on how and what to do to mount winch.

The 700's are winch ready. I'm not sure why the 500's are not, it makes zero sense. Someone on this site just added one to the 500. Cant seem to locate that thread though.

Warn 2,500 lb pro-vantage winch kit with steel cable, including mounting hardware etc PN 2436-100 $479.95 US
Warn 2,500 lb pro-vantage winch kit with Synthetic Rope, including mounting hardware etc PN 2436-101 MSRP $589.95 US

If you buy either of those two kits from Cat/Textron, everything you need will be included.

If you only want the mounting brackets used in those kits then you need:
Winch Mounting Plate PN 0541-622
Screw, Cap - M8 x 20 PN 8408-820 X4
Nyloc Nut - M8 PN 8427-802 x2 if you have the regular bumper, x4 if you have the deluxe brush guard

Odd, the 500 is actually a Kymco. But I had a 17 300 and it too was winch ready like my 700. Mind you the factory plate was brutally setup and installing the winch took 4 hours with modding the bolt length and I had to have my wife use her tiny hands to get the back bolts started.

The 700 took about 45 min lol. So maybe it's better that it didn't come with the plate.

I have a 2018 Alterra 300 which is winch ready, is that what you have? I'd like to add a winch, which brand and model winch did you install?

I don't recall the model but it was a champion that was MSRP $200 but got it for $120. Came with a tree saver, hooked pulley and a few other extras. Great budget winch.

Some things to know. It has a standard warn bolt pattern. At least the warns from 1-2 years ago as I heard a rumour they might have changed.

The 2 bolts further from the front of the ATV, you'll likely need to cut them shorter because the frame is in the way for length of bolts that come with winches.

I highly suggest you take the extra time to remove some plastics, the amount of time it takes to install with the plastics is possibly longer than not removing some. I had to have my wife use her tiny hands to start the bolts previously mentioned.

Only a box wrench will fit in these 2 bolts location. Even a ratcheting box wrench wouldn't fit because it's a mm thicker.
