Hi, I'm getting my 660st ready for the season. It has 4,400 miles and was bought used last winter. Wondering what ( if anything) to do with the clutches as far as maintenance goes. Just looking for advice from someone who knows clutches well. Thanks for any help!!!!

Blow the dust out, that's a good place to start.

You can pull it apart and check for wear. Most slop in the arms etc.

I find that once you get to 5k or so your getting into rebuild territory. That said I have rebuilt a clutch since a HEX, by the time you buy parts and tools it's easier to get a new clutch.

A clutch will tell you when it's starting to go. My Turbo has 5k on it and the clutch still seems to be in good shape, shifts well and doesn't make any noise.

kopeck is correct, make sure you look everything over and check for any cracks. You may want to compress your drive clutch and make sure your cam arms are free and don't have any bad wear spots on them.

Hope this helps Jeff
