My 08 650 h1 tends to fill the clutch with water when It gets deeper then the tires and i stand it up a little bit. I know your not supposed to go that deep but lets get serious If you drive a cat you like mud. The 2 times it happened the water was about up to the bottom of the seat and i was floating the front. Im thinking its coming from then the rear clutch breather sense its so low and when it stands up the angle allows water to flow in. Id like to keep it stock (no snorkels) untill the warrantys up so im just wundering if its a commom problem. My 05 400 Auto never had a drop of water. Any thoughts?

I am having the same issue!!! I am going to start with the intake and exhaust connections and clamps..those cheesy factory clamps are junk! id try there first...also inspect the rubber boot on the intake where it connects to the motor/clutch case...i have had a small chunk of wood embedded in there before ..unless you get on the ground and look up underneath you couldnt see it...i still get water in mine..so time to inspect it all over once again.

I was having the same problem too.... And I didn't want to snorkel mine either. Mine did stop after a while though. I guess some of the fittings sealed up on their own. I think the simplest thing to do would be to pull each of the connections off and silicone them and then re-tighten them.

If you check your front clutch breather it goes way up by your air box intake so I dont think its that but it could be loose clamps or joints. If you check the rear breather its a lot lower and makes a goose neck. I did pull the rear duck bill and that to poored sand and water out of it so i think it makes sense to say that the water comes from the rear breather. Like i said earlier its only when the front end floats and that angle allows water to enter it. maybe someone has came up with a solution because ive seen a lot of videos on utube and the same machines are just as swamped as mine was and they kept going. Anyone know whats up?

Took the cover off the clutch today because I could only get 47 mph out of it and the govener was kicking in. I had about an 1/8th inch mud on the entire clutch and sand and mud on the bottom of the cover. That cant come from the duckbills or inbetween cases. Any other suggestions?

I have an 07 700 in the shop now with similar problems, clutches are shot 600km getting warr on clutches. Found lower intake connection at motor band tight yet boot could be slipped off engine cover, no sealing what so ever housing full of mud and muskeg. Cat has ordered in new clutches and boot for engine not in yet so I haven't got it back together to see in new boot tightens up on housing.

Get a garden hose and fill your Belt intake (or exhaust if it is easier to get to) up with water and look for leaks. Also, go ahead and replace the crappy OEM clamps with good stainless steel clamps.

Did you check to be sure your belt housing drain plug is in? Just a thought, as sometimes we overlook the simple things.
