I tested my regulator at idle it reads 12.5acv when I rev it up to 3000rpm the voltage drops to 9.5acv testing at accessory plug at handlebars.

Tested the charge at battery in DC mode its putting out like 13DCV at idle when I rev up to 3000 or so its like 14dcv maybe a little more.

Now my question is can the regulator be putting out normal at idle and not when I rev up when I check ACV. I confused... I'm guessing it bad..Everything is working fine lights are bright...

What do you think..I'm at a loss here...

Check other areas of the sled for AC voltage. If lights are bright they are getting more then 9.5 Vac. Battery charge is working properly too. If there's a high load or poor electrical connection it can show up as a voltage drop.

I checked voltage in a couple different places just about the same readings.
I also diconnected the hood harness and checked it there it was a little lower and no load on the system except for the tail light.
The lighinting coil is in Spec. also checked the output which is also fine.
I am just wondering if its a sign of the regulator starting to go bad... its really strange.
Any help would be appreciated electric is not my strong suit.
