Hi, I was wondering if annyone would be able to tell me step by step how to replace brake pads on a 1973 Artic Cat 440 Snowmobile?I'm completely confused on how to even get to them.
Also I was wonder what type of oil went in the chain case? Or will any oil work?

unfortunately they skipped the brake pad replacement in this book, but you will find lots of other juice stuff...click on service manual. To get to the brake pads you must remove the entire brake caliper. The pads will fall out so take some pics as you go. Remove the 2 bolts that hold the caliper to the chain case. slide the caliper up and then back to get to the pads. There are 2 pins and metal plates that push on the pads...clean them up good. Have fun....you'll figure it out. You need 8 oz of 80 wt gear oil for the chain case.
