I have an 06 V2. I got it back from the dealer a few weeks ago and he told me something that really bothers me. He said my timing chains were streached again (2 times in about 7-800 miles) they have been replaced under warranty again as well as a few other things again. But I was wondering if this is a weak spot on V2's or maybe a bad batch of chains or something? I only have 26" Swamp foxes on it. Has anyone else had problems with timing chains?

I've been told mine were stretched and loose, but I havn't fixed them. My bike seems to run fine. Are there any serious side effects to running them a little to loose?

Well the first time I had a loud rattling sound it ended up being the chains (and LOTS of other stuff) and this time I brought it in before xmas for an oil burning issue that has been there since new, and the chains were streached out again, but no rattling noise. So I dont know if running them loose is good or bad, I would assume it isnt a good thing.

the chains in my 2005 V2 where changed in June of 2006. the small chains I think. Then in November, I got it checked again and the big ones were stretch to the max. They redid them all and then I traded the bike in for a kawi.

The guy who bought it, took 2 rides with it and it was burning oil like crazy. Valves were all screwed up again. They said it wasn't anything I did. Must have been installed wrong or something. I am happy I got rid of it when I did.

I had over 9000 km's. With your problems at that low mileage, i'd would seriously ask for a new engine and no more beating around the bush. Seems you have the same luck I had.

Arcticmonster, I have had some lawyers look into what can be done, and they figure breach of contract is the way to go with it. But I got talked into giving it one more try (the dealer really wants to get to the bottom of this) so I did that, but did tell him it is the last time. So any more issues realted to the original problem and I will be getting a lawyer to call.
