my cdi went out on my 1999 1000 thudercat last year. i bought a cdi for a 2001 new on ebay because the jagoff told me it would work. it runs after i installed it but has about half the power. is there anything i can do to make it work or do i have to find another cdi? ive been looking every where and i cant find a 99 cdi.

You got hosed. The 1993-1997 cdi boxes are for the closed ignitions. 1998-1999 are open ignitions. 2000-2002 are open ignitions for the 3-d ignitions. The 2000-2002 ignitions are NOT able to be used on any 1993-1999 sled unless you swap out the whole ignition: i.e. cdi, stator, flywheel, stator mounting plate and rack of carbs complete with TPS plug. You can use a 1993-1997 cdi box, but your key will work backwards.

I know its too late but once again it goes to show that this forum is the place to START with arctic cat questions. So that CDI would work on my 02 or not. how much you want for it , I dont need one now but for the right price maybe I'll stock it
