I have a 99 ZL440, it idles fine and runs strong at high RPM it just has a hard time picking up RPM's from idle. I have to feather the throttle to pick up R's over and over till it finally picks up. Carbs have been apart and show no sign of any blockage. All passages are clean and clear. Could it be an electrical problem? Plugs look great with a light tan color. No backfire or sound like its cutting out it just acts like a low speed jet is pluged but there not! Any thoughts?

I just had the same problem with a ZL 440 and it turns out that the belt was sitting too low in the clutches, and it was starting in second gear. Try a new belt!
