I have a 1975 Suzuki Fury (close to an El Tigre but not the same). The sled starts, runs for a bit then looses spark. If I try to restart it there is no spark. If I let it sit for a while (15+ minutes) it will start. Then loose spark. I replaced the stator. Same thing happened. Tried different coils. Same thing happened. Only thing left is the CDI box. Or am I missing something?

I have the same fury motor. If you have a cdi to throw at it...do it. Even if you have an el tigre cdi to use, try it. However, the timing curve between the fury and el tigre are different ( so I have been told) . It should start and run, but not quite the same as a fury cdi. Grounding! make sure all your grounding is good! also....never spin the engine over with the spark plugs out. They need to make contact(checking for spark) to ground the cdi or you CAN fry the cdi unit.
