What does anybody recommend putting in for a stator.
Should a guy put in a new one or should he go ahead and
have the old one rebuilt. Just a thought cause i'am not sure
what i'am going to do. Looking for a stator for a 98 zr 600,
if anybody has one let me no. Thanks

A rebuilt one will be fine and less expensive. There is a trick to making these live longer. If you place small 1/8" washer between the recoil and the flywheel housing on each of the four bolts that hold the recoil on, you will allow more air flow and better cooling of the stator. The issue with the sators failing was more due to excessive heat for the componets of the OEM stator.

Get it rebuilt. Stator Corps address is pinned at the top of this forum. They can be a bitch to pull though. then take the stator housing and drill holes in it. I have 16 3/8 holes in mine, no problems.
