Sorry to bring it up but My sled is doing the one cylinder run the backfiring and the black pannel from the fat exhaust. shut it off and restart it and it may run fine for a minute or an hour keep restarting and it changes every time. The real question is all the stator problems in the threads seem to be with the EFI machines. My sled is a 98 Carburated machine with the carb overrides bypassed by unplugging the three prong plug under the pad. Is the stator problem also true with the carburated models and if so is it worth while to have it rewound or should i just buck it up and pay for the new one????

Any help and advise you can give would be great!
