Ive seen thishere before, buti wanted to question it again.
I have a purple spring iordered from speedwerx. With that installed
The bike "stalls" way up before it starts moving with a big
jerk. Is that typical for all aftermarket springs? I want it to
startmovingas soon as i hit the throttle, but i want to prevent
smoking another belt too. anyadv ice would be appreciated.

You can get aftermarket primary springs that have about the same stall as your stock primary spring. I'm not familiar with the color springs that speedwerx offers, but I have the EPI pink primary that is almost identical to my stock spring as far as the stall goes. You might want to contact speedwerx and see what color they would recommend. The secondary spring controls the force of the grab on the belt. The stiffer the spring means the less likely your belt will slip, but you will lose a little top end. Hope this helps.

He's right...get a spring that's as close to the stock one as possible. Heck, just leave the stocker in there. No need to change. I had the EPI Pink and it raised the stall rate just a TAD, but it gave me a little more power when it did engage, which I wanted for plowing and such.
