OK boys, I'm ready to snorkle my 06 500auto. I don't go real deap but the insurance knowing I can if needed is the deciding factor.

I did a quick search but couldn't find a "how to snorkle" section. Lots of "look at my snorkle, but no step by step illustrated threads.

I've read them on here before so I know they are here.

Where are they hiding???

I know someone here will have a good link to a how to, but I can tell you everything I have read tells me that everyone does it a little different. Some use PVC, some use ABS, some use pool hose, some use radiator hose, some go out the front rack in the middle, some go out the sides....

I personally like the radiator hose method... seems like it would route easy and take the heat.

I really like how Sanny has his routed, check out the pics of his V-2.

I've been kicking around an idea for snorkling my 06 500 M. I'll try to post a how to, but I haven't seen anyone else do it the way I'm considering so it may end up being a "What not to do"

Sounds to me as though you are ready to start buying and fitting parts. Go slow and don't cut your bike until you have everything exactly the way you want it. I think the current rule of thumb is to use two inch tube for the snorks and put a 1.5 reducer for the intake if you don't want to rejet.

I dont think 2" is what you want, I think the hose that goes into the air box is a larger diameter than 2 "
I was looking into snorkin mine bought some 2" flex hose and it wasnt even close to fitting into the air box...I am going to order a new hose section where it comes from the front air collection chamber and use that to retro fit a snorkel

I' planned on using 2" PVC myself... Let me know what you come up with to fit though, I'm going to snorkle this coming week.

You don't have to replace that hose. Just take the front air box off and hook a 2" 90 up to the hose that normally runs up to the front box and go straight up from there. That's how I did mine. I had the carb snorkel done in under a half hour. The belt intake was another story.
