I have a 2014 pro M8000. I can see some metal flakes in the chain case oil, more like the oil is shiny. Is that Normal?

That's not normal at all. Have you ever changed the oil?

Maybe pull the chaincase cover and give it a good inspection and clean out. If all looks good, add new oil and keep an eye on it.

I would guess that he lied and it hasn't been changed in a while-- if ever. It is a pretty commonly neglected maintenance item.

I agree with 660catman. Pull the cover. Inspect. Wipe out the interior. Reassemble. Add new lube. Keep an eye on it.

Inspection never hurts. You can do a quick magnet test on the flakes before you open the case.
Anytime you open the case, check the tensioner for any side to side play. They don't last long when that starts. Sometimes, it is hard to verify with a simple visual check.
