I have a 2011 cat f8 ext that when put in reverse in deep snow the secondary spring comes out and stays out..making a sound like it is in between gears ..goes back in when put in forward ..wondering what would cause this ..any help would be appreciated..inspection of the secondary by mechanic says nothing wrong with the clutch itself

How tight is your belt deflection? A super tight belt can hold the sheaves open enough so the rollers don't drop into the cups on helix.

Also, it helps to make sure there isn't forward tension when you stop. The clutch may not drop all the way closed.

Had the machine in to the dealer and they couldn't find anything wrong, even though it happened while they tested it
