just wondering if anyone has a cheap or easy way to check the alignment of the clutches. and should there be any side to side slop(on the shaft) in the secondary. I have a reverse model so the old jackshaft is there.

Well theres an old Skidoo method where you take 3/8 or so square bar maybe 19" long and open up the 2ndary, drop the bar in, let the 2ndary close. The other end of the bar rests between the open faces of the primary. You now can take measurements for your X and Y, adjust for your new known values and it should work for a cat. Its tough to open the 2ndary tho, so you could remove the spring from the secondary, or get a buddy to pry it open. I think I am making it tougher than it sounds. I haven't tried it yet but it should work, It works on the Doo, and its pretty much the same principle.
