Rear Shock source other than OEM?

I have an old '99 300 4x4 that is in good shape and works perfectly. I only use it for maintenance on my own property, so it's led a good life. :) However, I do use a 20gallon sprayer tank on the rear rack, hence the rear shocks and springs need replacement. The OEM shock is $80, plus another $30 for the spring (totaling $220 plus tax for the pair ). Can anyone point me in the direction of a decent aftermarket shock with spring assembly which would serve as reasonable replacements for my tired old oems?
Thanks!

try bronco shocks, thee adjustable and slightly stronger than OEM according to THEM!

you can also try measuring the current shocks EYE to eye, and width of eye, and searching other shocks off larger ATV's that maybe would fit, this way it with be able to maybe have a higher weight rating to handle the load of the sprayer better!

HI Lifter used to make and sell HD springs, but not sure if they still do
as did < Progressive 512 shocks, that were made for hauling heavier loads, but not sure again if they too still make them or not

Thanks mrbb! I checked into the 'bronco' option but they don't appear to make anything that fits this vintage atv. It looks like I'm stuck buying oem springs and shocks. I hate to put over $220 into shocks on an atv that's worth maybe $1200.

If anyone knows of a source for aftermarket shocks for the pre-2003 atvs, please let me know. Thanks!

I had thought about different shocks for my 300 for adjustable spring tension and a bit of a lift. I looked at my 400 shocks as they are adjustable but can’t remember if they would fit. I could measure again tomorrow for you if you like.

again, if you measure the shocks, eye to eye, and then width of eye's on shocks, you might find others that will fit, maybe from another make/model atv, but will still be new shocks?

if you list the measurements here, MAYBE others can help you too?

I have a few shocks off other brand atv's that are close in ATV size, I could compare to too?? that maybe would work?
