How do i set the tensioner. It doesn't have a auto tensioner on it. It has a bolt that goes in and pushes on the chain tension idler but also has a second chain idler on the other side connected by a spring.

How do i set the bolt for proper chain tension. tight, 1/8 inch space, ??????????....

thanks for any help on this........

Don't worry about the spring inside... it will do it's job by itself! As for the manual adjust, loosen the locknut and adjust the bolt handtight until you feel tension and tighten up the locknut again. Go ridin'!!! :sledder:

i bought a basket case. no skid , no engine. i put it back together. i did not know there is a special washer that goes under the lock nut for the chaincase gears. it is concave and compresses when the nut is tighten. please make sure you have the gear washer as you do not want to drag your sled back like i did mine. we had to remove the outer 1/16th of the splines to get the gear back on. they we mushroomed.
