I've got a primary clutch that I am setting up with notched weights.

I would like to know if there is a different procedure that is followed when; setting the belt to primary sheave clearance using notched weights?

How does shimming for belt clearance differ between notched weights and smooth weights ?

Thanks !

Get Aaen's clutching handbook.
The shimming is set up dependent on what you're doing (And what you're doing it with). But if you're making your own weight notches and changing springs and belts, I'd just make sure it was the exact same shimming relative to the belt width every time so you don't complicate your results.
Noting down what you do is most important in any clutching work. And with that comes the work that goes into making sure the engine mounts and clutch rollers are good.
