I would appreciate some information from any of the engine gurus out there. My buddy burned down at the end of this year and deposited a very minor amount of an aluminum on his chrome cylinders. A friend of ours suggested using muratic acid on a Q-tip to remove this before installing the new pistons and rings. Is this proper procedure? Does he need to use a fine ball hone (which grit) to help the rings seat? Any information would be greatly appreciated.
