They are really just small nicks on my middle piston. They are facing the exhaust port with a couple on the carb side. The cylinder is fine.

Any idea what caused it?

The top end was taken apart because one of the O rings in the adjact cliders was leaking. That piston was replaced but it was scored on the skirt, the crown was fine.

I was going to leave it but now I m not sure.

Can I reuse it???

I dont have another piston and I really need to get it back together.
I have to do a couple of other things to the sled before it is ready to ride.

Should I file or sand any high spots or leave it alone?

You should replace it but being that small of a nick you could sand it an smooth the edges of the nick to prevent any hot spots...Good luck

Your right.
Any way to tell if it is at idle, mid or full throttle?

Not sure what may be causing it. When we got the sled it have and aftermarket silencer. If anything, I would have though they would have put on a larger jet.

Once I get It back together I will check for air leaks aroud the carbs.

check crank seals too. you can do this by spraying carb and choke cleaner around the seals and the reed boots. check your jets too and tell us what they are
