I went to my dealer to get an oil filter for my H1 and they sold me a Suzuki #0436-146 (part # 16510-44D10). I was in a hurry and didn't look in the bag until I got home and had the oil drained and standard oil filter taken off. The threads and rubber gasket match, but I can't find anywhere on the net where these parts are referenced. I called the dealer and they said it uses the same filter as a 500. I've already changed the oil and rode the quad just to my garage, but was planning on a long ride monday and am afraid to use it until I find out for sure it's okay!!

I'll order a case of filters off the net next time!!! :angry_mad:

H1 can use the filters from a 500 or a 700. Used to use a filter # 0812-029 which comes on them from the factory. The 500 P/N used to be 0812-005. The new 700 P/N is 0812-034 last I checked. Which is identical to the -029. The -005 for the 500 or whatever the P/N is now, is the same thread, gasket, and anti-drainback, just a shorter body. It can be used but I used the -034s. Most dealers computers say to use the same filtre as a 500, and that is what they give you. I showed mine that the new H1's on the floor had the -029s, he called about it, and then noticed the -034 for the 700 has the -029 P/N x-ref'd on the sticker... . Confused yet?

Go for your ride and change it next oil-change. It's okay.

I use a susuki filter on my 06 cat 400 fis and it crosses to the same filter you got, as a matter of fact the 400 is a suzuki motor and the 500 uses the same filter so I bet suzuki makes it to. I've read that suzuki owns I believe 30 % of arctic cat so I wouldn't worry about it not saying arctic cat. I wonder if suzuki makes the H1 ??

I believe it is wix that makes all the filters. You can get a wix, a cat, or a zuki filter, all the same, with different p/n's...

All of the Arctic Cat Atv's take the same filter except the 650 V-twin 250/300's and the new 250's and the DVX400

So the 400-454-500-650H1-700 are all the same as far as the filter is conserned.

All of Cats ATV engines are made by Suzuki except the 650 V-twin (Kawasaki) and the New 250's (Kymco) and the 650 H1 which is their own engine but is basicly a copy cat of the 500.

All of Cats snomobile engines have been made by Suzuki for a long time too.

If you closely compare the specifications between the 650 H1 and the 500, you will see that the only difference is the displacement and type of spark plug. Oil and coolant volume is the same. The H1 is basically a re-sleeved 500. That's why it needs an oil cooler to replace to cooling capacity lost between the cylinder wall and the block due to increase in cylinder size. AC won't tell us that but common sense would lead one to believe it's reason the 650 is the only liquid cooled AC engine with an oil cooler. Even the clutch is the same on the 500 and 650. Take a look at the size of the clutch on a 400. It's quite a bit smaller than the 500 clutch. Now compare a 500 to a 650. No difference in size. I wouldn't worry about using a 500 filter on a 650.

The 034 is the new standard filter for the 500 and 650 single Cats. The shops here do not even carry the 029 anymore.
