I have a stock crossfire 2011 800 HO, and the octane light keeps lightning up. I know there is a reflash for the 2012 800 mapping but here is the thing. I bought this sled used and i called a local dealer to ask about the recall and they told me, according to my VIN its already have a reflash! It was to my understanding that reflash should had fixed this? Its very sensitive, is there anything i could do instead of using ****** octane booster??

Mine has a date written with a paint marker right on the ECU. Another issue with these that had a sensitive octane light is the knock sensor being over torqued which would damage them making them overly sensitive. If you do infact have the reflash and have proven your gas is not the issue then replace the knock sensor. I have never seen my octane light and I have run some pretty ****** gas in it...

I heard 2011 are the worst anyway I'll give a try to take it of and retorque it to the right spec. Then I'll take it from there. But i don't see nothing on the ecu regarding the reflash indication

It should be the only sticker (white) on top of the ecu in clear sight about 1"x2" with a dealer name, number and a date on it. I never saw the octane light on my 2011 f8 either even before the recall. Pretty much everyone that has or had the 2011 800 h.o. that I know said they never saw the octane warning again after the recall was fixed.

Just something to think about. Last year I was plagued with numerous octane codes on my '11 800 H.O. Although they looked good, I replaced and correctly gapped all 4 spark plugs at the same time for some troubleshooting. The octane codes stopped. I'm thinking that if the plugs have a weak spark or one is not firing there is an incomplete burn that contributes to triggering the code. Just my experience though. Cheaper than a knock sensor to try.

I have 2015 Arctic Cat ZR 8000 ltd sp my octane light comes on when when you are three-quarter throttle and if you run it long enough, the ECU code 21 comes up, but I’ve changed fuel ran aviation fuel it’s all the same and I have changed spark plugs knock sensor I have taking it to the Arctic Cat dealer. They honestly don’t know they’re guessing that maybe it’s a wire or a bearing in the engine or has anybody got any ideas?

My son had a knock sensor problem in his 1100 turbo. We tried High Octane gas - no change. We replaced knock sensor - no change. We took the sled to Thomas Sno Sports in Ogilvie, MN. They found a lead wire for the knock sensor loose and bouncing on some metal - causing the signal. They secured the wire with zip ties - problem solved.
