no clutch 400 4x4

I replaced the shift rod that goes through the trans,,,,,the rod that the gear shifter is connected to....well, when I put it back together...I have no clutch at all!!! What did/didn't I do? any help would be appreciated!! Gears shift great just no clutch...

FYI: I put the start clutch bearing in backwards!! duh!!....works great now!! SBJ
