Misfiring

Hey guys. 2006 AC 400 auto. I had an issue with spark. Changed the coil and still problems. Cdi started another bike no issue. Tested the pickup coil and it was out of spec. Unit had been sitting for a couple years. Anyway flywheel stator and pickup replaced fires up on the first turn after I installed rebuilt carb. New fuel also. Idles perfect. When you get over 4K rpm it starts cutting out real bad. Think this after mark coil is braking down? The stator and pickup are ricks. Thsnkd

Test the voltage at the battery while running and while revving it up. It may not be as bad if you have the lights on. It should stay constant at around 14.3 ish. When the VR is not working it kind of sputters at higher RPM.
Well I hope that’s it. I just done a voltage test at battery. 13.08 at 2000rpm. Anything else while I’m under there? I should have replaced the BR after all the other stuff. Thsnks
Are you reving it up in neutral?
It has a rev limiter , it will cut ignition at around 4000 so you don’t over rev and blow up your engine up.
Would the rev limiter be on the 400 auto. I had a Manuel in here a month or 2 ago and it would rev up a lot more. But if you’re right I’ll try getting it on the road tomorrow and see if that’s it. But my voltage is no where near 14.3. It’s 13.08
So it’s in the cdi that limits in neutral?

Does voltage change at idle with lights off, then on.

Yes
We’ll give that man a cigar. I drove around the neighborhood with no missing or cutting out at all. Only when in neutral after 4K rpm. Now I know some have rev limiters. Thanks guys. Y’all are great
