My wife's '97 Jag Dlx has just started burning out the low beam filament in the headlight. The filament is fine until she comes off idle. My first inclination was to replace the voltage regulator, but we rode 200 miles with her on high beam with no problems. The hand/thumb warmers are working fine. Does anyone have any ideas re: what else could be causing this?

Thanks in advance,
Dennis G.

Many years ago my '80 panther 440 f/c did the same thing. For some reason the high beam would take the extra voltage. I replaced the voltage regulator and all was fine. If I were you I'd check voltage with some kind of ohm meter before replacing any parts. That just might be your problem. Let us know!!!!
