The 13 yr old and I are packing up the packsacks and off this weekend to hit the trails of Eastern Manitoba. We have loaded as much 2 stroke oil into the sled storage compartments and packsacks as much as we can. Here's our route,,,,

Day 1 (Friday). Start Hwy 59 and Floodway (Winnipeg)- Sled to Ile des Cheins, Ste. Anne, Richer, Whitemouth, Dorothy Lake (drop off gear at Pinewood Lodge). Have lunch, Sled to Big Whiteshell, Falcon, West Hawk, back through Nutimik and return to Pinewood. Sit in hottub remainder ofday

Day 2. (Sat) Head north from Dorothy lake to Lac Du Bonnet to Lee River then to Bird River. Have Lunch, loop around, then head to Powerview, back to Lac du Bonnet, then to Pinewood

Day 3 (Sunday). Sled into Pinawa and Lac du Bonnet area and then move west towards Anola then head south and back to Iles Des Cheines and back to Winnipeg.

I will post some pics when we get back.

Enjoy this weekend as much as you can, beause if the current forecast doesn't change, by the end of next week the major areas in the south will be snow-less. The 3 day snowstorm expected for M/T/W is now predicted to be 3 days of rain - and that will turn everything to soup.

Have a great time.
