It's burning the oil some how but she runs good just have to add 1/4 of a qart every time I run it. It's a lt2000 craftsman lawn tractor 17.5hp. I adjusted the valves to specs. Now I'm thinking it's a head gasket. Any takers on what's going on with it?

I had a Briggs 17hp in our 2000 Sabre 1742 burn oil and it was worse when I was cutting our ditch. One way it burnt oil and smoked. Run the other way and all was good. It was the head gasket and an easy fix. I still run the machine to this day.

Thanks bud. It was the head gasket. Instead of the buying the original gasket for it I made a copper gasket out of sheet copper. She runs without smoking now or burning oil. Ah and thanks for moving my atv question to the all brand atv section. About that do u know the valve specs on a 05 outlander 330
