Installing crankshaft in 650-h1

I had to replace the crankshaft in my 2008 650-H1. I have installed the new crankshaft and crankshaft balancer. However, the balancer is hitting the bottom of the crankshaft. Do I need to shim the crankshaft to get the necessary clearance? The old crankshaft did not have a shim.
