I pretty much got my mind made up on Mudlite XTR's and type 7 or SS rims. Im just not sure of what size for the tire and rim. Will I lose a lot of power if I decide to go to a 26" tire and/or a 14" rim? (I have a stock 06 500). Also what do you guys think about the 14" rims...they look saawweet but am I going to run into problems if I go this route?do you have any ride problems at all with them etc.?

Thanks for any help Rockerdude

I would stay with a 12" rim and go with the 26" tires. I only noticed a small amount of power loss on top end with mine and they will make it ride better and turn easier in every condition you can think of.. I have heard the 14" rims make them ride a little rougher than the 12" being you have less side wall for flex they get stiffer. I really do love my XTR's and would recommend them to anyone looking to upgrade to a better tire... As far as rims go I really like the SS rim from ITP but my dealer didn't have them at the time I was buying tires but that is what I would go with, right now I have my XTR's mounted on stock steel rims

I have 27" XTR's mounted on my stock rim's as well. I love the XTR's, a great upgrade for the bike. Don't notice to much of a power loss, but sure have good traction now.
