Hi All, I have an 2005 AC500, TBX, 4x4 Automatic Red; I was on a Trail last weekend and had problems with my ATV.
It slowed right down and I couldn't get the revs to go faster, and once I put it in gear, it shutdown; the error message on the display stated 'Gear Position'; It killed the battery, but I could start it with the recoil starter; but it would be the same situation as above. I could switch gears from N to H to L to R, and not a problem, but again would stall. It also had a very strong sour smell, so I thought at first that I overheated, but the Temp light was going on.
Could get back & had to get towed rest of the way.
Anybody got any ideas as to what happened? What part(s) would I have to check if Gear Position sensor on.

I’d say your one way bearing is shot. I will move this to the correct forum.
