Hi, I have a 2005 Arctic Cat 400. It has the vent tube in front of the gas cap on the fuel tank. The tube attaches to a small nipple. Through the years the nipple has deteriorated. I have tried glue and everything else I can think of to get the tube to stay on to no avail. Would it work if I drilled a hole just large enough for the tube to be inserted into the fuel tank? About out of ideas, other than spending over $200 for a new fuel tank. Thanks!

I've seen where someone glued the tube into the tank but I don't know if I'd do that

Be careful with a drill around a gas tank. Sparks from the brushes can cause a nasty explosion!

On the 2000 models, the vent tube is part of the gas cap, it also has the gas gauge in it. So basically you could put a screw in that hole and plug it. Im not sure if the gas cap will have the exact threads as yours though. I'd look at a motorcycle gas caps ( dirt bikes ) they had the gas cap and vent hose together. You should have lots of options.
