I have a 2005 M6 with the float type gas guage and it came apart inside of the tank. I recovered the parts from inside of the tank and am now trying to figure out what is easiest way to reassamble. How does the top guage portion come off of tank?

I have reasembled it twice and it just keeps falling apart. How do you plan to fix it? I tried melting the plastic around the bars, but they still pulled out easily.

My brothers have each had this happen to their Ms as well.

I had this happen on my CF7.
Take that metal u-shaped float guide and flatten the ends a little bit. That way when you squeeze the "squared pegs" back into the "round holes", they won't to slip out anymore.

I reassembled mine the 1st time and it vibrated loose within 5 miles of riding. I reassembled again using Loctite super glue and so far, so good...
